Ben Kamins, a preeminent pharmaceutical and dermatological chemist, has been developing medicines for physicians and dermatologists across North America for over 30 years. B. Kamins continues to develop breakthrough formulas in the field of progressive skin care at Montreal-based Odan Laboratories, which he founded in 1974.
In 1997, Kamins founded B. KAMINS CHEMIST, which is quickly becoming one of the leading companies in the growing field of cosmeceutical skin care that bridge the gap between the dermatologists, plastic surgeons and traditional cosmetic counters.

Kamins was the first to address the special needs of peri-menopausal and menopausal skin. The creation of the Menopause Cream and the Menopause Body Lotion marked the first product of its kind specifically targeted to hormone-deprived skin. Kamins originally formulated the preparation for his wife and after seeing the difference it made to the appearance of her skin, realized that many hormone deprivation skin symptoms could be treated without prescription medicines. Kamins introduced the product to the public in 1998.

Kamins is also a pioneer in treating rosacea, an acne-like inflammation that occurs in adults and manifests itself in red patches on the face. This condition which is very difficult to treat challenged Kamins to create Booster Blue Rosacea Treatment, a breakthrough emollient anti-inflammatory formula, which complements doctor treatments where traditional products have failed. Kamins also created Revitalizing Booster Concentrate effective for skin traumatized by laser, radiation, AHA treatments and microdermabrasion.

Kamins has helped fund the purchase of specialized laboratory equipment to further university scientific research, and has sponsored university educational seminars and student scholarships. He has also lectured extensively and is a member of numerous professional societies including L'Ordre des Pharmaciens, American Society of Cosmetic Chemists and the International Society of Cosmetic Chemists.

Kamins is a graduate of the Faculté de Pharmacie de l'Université de Montréal. He is an accomplished oil painter and takes great pleasure in caring for his award-winning gardens at his home in Montreal.
